Terra
Cognita Satellite Imagery
Cosmographics has joined with PlanetObserver, looking after
sales and distribution primarily in the UK of Terra Cognita,
a high resolution database of global satellite images that cover
the whole world.
PlanetObserver
specialises in the creation of high resolution global satellite images
in true natural colours acquiring raw data at 15 and 30 metres
and now holding over 7000 scenes covering the whole world.
After Geo-rectification, the data is treated to obtain natural
and real coloured images. From this database of global satellite images, Cosmographics (UK) is able to
supply the following:
- The entire World at 2km, 1km and 450 metres / pixel
- The World at 150 metres / pixel (available in March 2006)
- All continents at 150 metres / pixel
- Single Western European and Asian countries at 30 metre
/ pixel
- Scenes of the whole world at both 15 and 30 metres /
pixel
- World Digital Elevation Model at 90 metres / pixel
- Scenes of main cities around the world at 2.5 metre /
pixel (Spot imagery) are also available
A worldwide coverage, the quality of satellite image and map, continuous enrichment
and updating, flexibility to meet client’s requirements
and a competitive pricing policy are key to its success.
These global satellite images have a unique visual impact and precision and
can be used for the most diverse applications.
Publishing
Terra Cognita global satellite images can be used in books (educational, atlases
or reference), as wallmaps, posters, calendars and postcards.
Media and Advertising
As the satellite images are rich in colour and information
they are very good for magazines and newspapers and make an
excellent tool for audio-visual media.
There are many other applications in the TV sector, ranging
from creating backdrops for News reports, creating fly through
or zooming animations.
Multimedia
Terra Cognita global satellite images can be used in navigation software
packages, interactive electronic atlases and video games.
Exhibitions and Museums
Global Satellite images can be used to focus on many of the important
issues the world faces today, including the environment and
sustainable development, global change, aesthetic or geographical.
Corporations
Imagery used for both internal and external communication.
Government Agencies
Terra Cognita data can be licenced for use in various fields
by Government agencies such as Geographic Departments, Research
Institutes, Natural Resource Planning and Remote Sensing Agencies.
